Worship

Some of my favorite worship songs:
"Only You" The David Crowder Band
We need to remember that God cares about us so much that we get the undivided attention of his love. A father that cares so deeply to know whether or not you like ketchup with your fries or ranch, to the true desires of your heart. But it is up to US to respond to this great love. No relationship can grow with out communication. "Just you and me here now, only you and me here now" God loves ALL of his children no matter what happens in life and wants to make a connection with you. Lay down all other distractions and focus on the Lord. You are deeply loved.

California

Finally I was able to take a vacation! I only had a few pictures so I thought I would share them with you here, and tell you a little bit about my trip.

So we left at midnight to drive all the way to the best place ever, Six Flags Magic Mountain! Talk about a long road trip! But it was all worth it somehow we managed to ride nearly everything X2 and Tarsus were AMAZING!!! And how could you go wrong with Goliath? By the end of that day we were so exhausted.

DAY 2 included driving to Venice beach aka "muscle beach" so we caught some rays...a lot of rays actually, made sand castles, body surfed, and walked along the board walk. It was wonderful till it was time to hop on that freeway and go home...stinking LA traffic. Overall the trip was a sucsess and we all had lots of fun. :)

Today

Today was an interesting day. And not interesting is in 'oh that is weird and I have nothing better to say that wouldn't be considered offensive interersting' but it was sincerely well, interesting. Today I went to a conference called Love Won Out. It was amazing, I learned so much about our God, and glimpses of what it is like for those that struggle with same sex attraction, and even more about myself. If anyone would like to hear more about this conference I would love to speak to you in person to explain more. Anyways, there were protesters that held many signs saying "God loves me" and many people had flags and were waving them around. They were peacefully protesting (minus the fact that when it was time for me they were blocking my view of oncoming traffic, but whatev) which they obviously have every right to do that. As a member of the body of Christ, it broke my heart to see that those protesters were outside for hours trying to make a point that they were loved by our Father. When did it be okay as "Christians" to deny that love of God? When did we get authority to say who exactly God loves. The answer is, it isn't, and we don't. Those protesters are right, God does love people that are struggling, we are ALL sinners and we need Jesus. My heart breaks for the broken and like I said, we are all broken. We need to show the world that God has no restraints on who he loves, we are all his children. Jesus has made a way to deliver us from sin, we need to die to our self and leave everything, and I mean everything at the cross and cling onto Jesus, and learn everything over again with Gods original intent, only then will we be born again.

"For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord, looks at the heart."     1 Samuel 16:7

Your Love Never Fails

This song is pretty much Amazing!
We sang it at EXP last week and it is so true. God will never fail you, EVER.
Things do not always go according to plan, trust me, I know. My journey/life has been all over the place and it has not been easy. But God is so good that if you hold on to Him, he will not disappoint. I challenge all of you to think about a time in your life that you were down and didn't think that there was a way out that you cried out to God asking "why?" or "help".
What happened?
In my story it took a while to see any change, and it wasnt till this last Friday that I actually realized all the change that God has done. There was so much bitterness in the past that God had completely wiped clean. He has given me peace and joy, and you can have that too!
God loves you so much! Believe it!

An Unordinary Thanksgiving.

This year was slightly different than what I have been used to when it comes to the holidays. Normally I will go home and spend the entire day of Thanksgiving cooking with my mom, then our family will go over to our friends, Abe and Rose's house that will soon be jam packed with 4-6 more families. We continue to cook while the little ones run around like crazy and the men watch football. Our feast usually includes the traditional turkey, a ham, carne asada, shrimp, and some crab legs. Yum!
However this year it was slightly different. My family moved to Washington state and I wasn't able to catch a flight out. Sad face.  But I did have many generous offers from my friends to spend Thanksgiving with them. And that is what I did. Fun!
Meet Alex and Micaela Wamboldt. They just got married in June! I was a bridesmaid. Also fun! They are now seniors getting ready to graduate but they have been amazing leaders in Chi Alpha and great friends. Side note Micaela and I lived together last year. They are also my parents....inside joke.
So I got to spend Thanksgiving with them and Alex's parents and sister, Cassy up at their cabin in Greer. It was so beautiful, the work that they put into this cabin is unreal. The whole weekend was incredibly relaxing. I didn't have my phone at all. No signal. It was a nice escape from reality.
On Thanksgiving day when I woke up it was snowing and I just watched the snow loft to the ground, it was beautiful. Later that day we got a chance to go sledding and play in the snow.

The whole weekend was a replica of this carefree, lets have fun and relax atmosphere. We played a bunch of family games, watch YouTube videos, and even went star gazing. It was so cold! I just wanted to dedicate this to all of the Wamboldts. Even though I didn't have my normal Thanksgiving, I really enjoyed being apart of yours. Thank you for making me feel loved and welcomed.

Only the Beginning

Thanks for reading. So I have delayed starting a blog for some time now mostly because I don't think that I have anything important to talk about. So since it is almost Thanksgiving, maybe I should mention something about how grateful I am. And then maybe I will talk about other random things...who knows.

God is amazing no matter what way you look at Him. He created our beautiful world.
And He created YOU!!
Look in a mirror, that's you!

This past year has been a huge time of growth for me, I had the opportunity to go to North Africa this summer. (At some later date I will write more about this trip) The trip took about 8 months of planning and preparation, all of which was needed. There I met some of the most amazing people. Their faith in God was beautiful, it challenged me to believe and trust that God can work in any situation. To often do we put Him in a box and fail to ever even ask for what our heart truly desires and aches for. So as this semester has gone on, I started to trust in God that he would be there to walk through things with me. It wasn't the easiest thing to do, but God sure did deliver and He still is. My point is believe that God will fix the impossible. There is no point in holding everything in thinking you can handle it when God is standing right there next to you with His hands open waiting to help.

"Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge."
Palms 62:5-8

Think about it.

On another note, I am ridiculously excited for Christmas so I think I will find some kind of arts and craft thing to do and then if it is successfully I will share it on my next post.
Until then....Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

33 more days till Christmas!!!
